What happens when healers are no longer free to share what they know?
What happens when practitioners are pressured to stay inside rigid institutional boundaries, even when they believe another approach may better help the person sitting in front of them?
And what happens to the public when access to holistic practitioners, alternative healing approaches, and broader health information slowly disappears?
These are not abstract questions anymore. Across the country, both licensed and unlicensed practitioners are facing growing restrictions on how they can practice, what they can say, and what healing approaches they are permitted to offer.
At the same time, millions of people are actively seeking more individualized and holistic paths to health — searching for herbalists, homeopaths, naturopaths, integrative physicians, energy healers, and practitioners who approach healing differently than the increasingly standardized systems dominating modern medicine.
National Health Freedom Coalition (NHFC) believes people should have access to the practitioners and healing information they need on their personal health journey.
That is why NHFC continues its educational work surrounding two critically important health freedom policy frameworks designed to expand access to care while maintaining transparency, accountability, informed consent, and reasonable safety protections.
#1 Safe Harbor Practitioner Exemption laws help protect access to unlicensed complementary and alternative practitioners by allowing them to legally offer their services under a clear set of common-sense guidelines established in law. These frameworks help preserve public access to practitioners such as herbalists, homeopaths, traditional healers, naturopaths, and energy practitioners — practitioners who, in many states, may otherwise face threats of prosecution simply for sharing their knowledge and helping others.
Currently, eleven states have passed some form of Safe Harbor Practitioner Exemption law, helping preserve access to complementary and alternative practitioners and protecting consumer choice. Momentum continues to build as more citizens, practitioners, and community leaders recognize the importance of protecting health freedom and expanding access to holistic care.
#2 Expanded Care Practice Act education focuses on lawful pathways that allow licensed health care professionals to responsibly offer integrative and innovative approaches outside prevailing standards of care when proper disclosure, informed consent, reasonable skill, and patient safety are maintained. These frameworks are not simply about protecting practitioners — they are about protecting the public’s access to broader healing options and important medical information that patients may otherwise never hear within increasingly restrictive institutional systems.
Healing is deeply personal. No single system, institution, or prevailing standard can possibly meet the needs of every individual. People deserve the freedom to explore the healing approaches they believe are best for themselves and their families.
But this educational work cannot continue without your support.
Can you help support NHFC’s June Fundraiser with a tax-deductible contribution today? Our goal is to raise $50,000 by June 30th to continue and expand NHFC’s educational efforts nationwide. Thanks to generous matching pledges from Ned Wuertz, Steve and Jerri Johnson, and Spring Forest Qigong, every dollar donated up to $15,000 will be doubled.
Your support helps NHFC continue educating citizens, practitioners, and grassroots leaders about health freedom laws and lawful pathways that preserve access to healing choices for future generations.
Whether you give a one-time donation or become a recurring monthly supporter, every contribution strengthens this growing movement for health freedom.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Julie Booras
