Barbara Ford

Barbara Ford, B.A., M.H., is commited to holistic healing of the body, mind and spirit as she utilizes various traditional healing systems to help others achieve optimal health and well being. This includes a commitment to ensuring that health freedom is available to all who seek holistic choices in their health care.

Barbara teaches classes at Healing Waters in White Bear Lake Minnesota, and consults with clients who desire to incorporate herbs into their wellness program. She speaks to large groups on herbal medicine topics. She has been exploring the medicinal value of herbs for over nine years and became a Master Herbalist in 2001 with a Diploma in Herbal Studies from the Australasian College of Health Sciences. Areas also studied and practiced include iridology, homeopathy, flower essences, aromatherapy, natural pet care, and nutrition and Ayurvedic diagnostic techniques.

Barbara has also studied related healing systems, including Chinese medicine, Ayurvedic medicine, Native American medicine, and other systems practiced in Europe and Asia. Her belief is that aspects of all healing systems can be integrated into a wellness program for individuals.

She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the National Health Freedom Coalition and served on the board of the North Country Herbalist Guild in 2005.
In 2002, she received a Small Business Innovative Research Grant from the University of Wyoming to submit a research grant to the National Institutes of Health to research essential oil herbal remedies for preventing the West Nile Virus. Her work was featured on a newscast on KCNC-TV in Denver, Colo., in July 2004.

Barbara has been a Reiki/Amanohuna practitioner for seven years. She is also a trained Doula (birth assistant).

She has been editing the “Health Freedom Reporter” for the National Health Freedom Coalition since 2006. She has written articles for newsletters and was the editor of Natural Lifestyles, a free publication with articles and advertising for holistic health care distributed in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Barbara received a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire in 1981
